Very professional in presentation and booking process. Also, I liked that the team send us a reminder the day before. We were so much looking forward to the experience and were excited when we arrived at the Whale Shack.

Yes, we did see some whales and it was beautiful. Unfortunately, the boat was too full to allow an authentic experience. There were so many people on the boat that you couldn't just move to the other side when you wanted to because there were so many people blocking the way and the view. The reality on board was miles away from the pictures you can find on their website. It's not that we felt unsafe. It's the fact that they crammed so many people in just to make some more money, that left a bad impression.
The captain was nice and was told us some interesting information about whales. But he didn't make a very enthusiastic impression and looked like he'd be rather somewhere else and as if he took this tour already too often.

Such a shame, because in total the negative points really reduced the experience to a fair, super-touristy something and left us back a bit disappointed, especially in regards to the price of the tour.

We had an amazing experience with Southern Right Charters! We saw plenty of whales and there was an expert on the boat who gave us plenty of interesting facts about whales for the duration of the trip. The whales came extremely close to the boat which made this trip worth every penny. They also knew where to find the whales. One of the crew members also had a drone with which he captured the whale sightings for the trip. The drone was also useful seeing as it hovers above the whale before the whale surfaces so that the whale watchers know where to look in order not to miss it. I would definitely recommend Southern Right Charters to anyone who wants to go whale watching by boat. PS. Remember to take a warm jacket with you on the boat. It also helps to drink motion sickness tablets two hours before your trip.

I had a really fantastic experience with Southern Right Charters. It is one thing to see the whales from the cliffs in Hermanus but to visit them a bit more inside the bay is just amazing. Personally I was afraid of sea sickness but their boat was very sturdy and I had no problems. The information prior and during the trip had been really helpful to understand the gentle giants.

Brilliant. Excellent, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Been twice and always had great viewing. Very good value at R900 per adult for approx 2 hours trip.

The crew were amazing and patient, treating the experience with insightful information. Making a fun educational tourist event. Not forgetting the beautiful majestic whales and sea life, I more than ever believe God is real and great.
